On Saturday Evening, January 2, 2016, Executive Officer, Dad Harry E. Needham III was installed as Worshipful Master of Unity Lodge #148, in New Britain. This marks Dad Needham's fourth term as Master.
It was a star studded affair for DeMolay in Connecticut. Installing Master was Dad Simon R. LaPlace, Most Worshipful Past Grand Master of Mason's in Connecticut and Honorary Member of DeMolay International. The installing team consisted of Dad Kenneth B. Hawkins and Dad George S. Greytak, also Past Grand Masters, and members of DeMolay International, Dad Christopher J. Earle, Past Executive Officer for Connecticut and Active Member of DeMolay International, Dad Brian S. Noble Executive Officer for Massachusetts and Active Member of DeMolay International, Dad Edward Lawson, Past State Master Councilor for Connecticut and Honorary Member of DeMolay International, Mom Anne Needham, Supreme Inspector for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls in Connecticut, and State Master Councilors Brother Michael Gendreau (Connecticut) and Brother William Blake (Massachusetts). Photography was provided by Dad William Millett, Executive Officer for DeMolay in Atlantic Provinces, in Canada.
The Grand Officers of Connecticut International Order of Rainbow for Girls, lead by Grand Wothy Advisor, Sister Kelsy Orsini and the State Officers and members of DeMolay in Connecticut, lead by State Master Councilor, Michael Gendreau, along with Dad William Mackie, Right Eminent Past Grand Commander of Knights Templar in Connecticut provided an excellent Flag Presentation, capped off with solos provided by Mom Suzanne Dana, Past Grand Royal Matron of Amaranth in Connecticut.
This was truly an auspicious occasion that not only honored the installation of the Lodge's new leader, but also celebrated the Masonic Family. Unity Lodge #148 has done quite a bit to support DeMolay and Rainbow in Connecticut, they also sponsor Nathan Hale Chapter and New Britain Assembly #6. Dad Needham has certainly played a role in the support the Lodge gives to the Masonic Youth, but the Brothers of the Lodge have been very supportive above and beyond the call.
Congratulations Dad Needham and to the officers and members of Unity Lodge #148.
