Nathan Hale Chapter Instituted

On Sunday, January 12, 2014, Nathan Hale Chapter, in New Britain, CT, was instituted when the officers and advisors of the Chapter were officially installed.  It's another step to be taken as they get close to becoming a real, chartered, Chapter in the Order of DeMolay.
Jeffrey Rowland was installed as Master Councilor along with 11 officers, 8 of which are only members of Nathan Hale Chapter.  Jeff is a Past Master Councilor of Marcus Holcomb Chapter in Southington and has volunteered his services to help out Nathan Hale Chapter while his Chapter is in a rebuilding phase.
Dad Martin Valencia, a Master Mason from Anchor Lodge #112 in East Hampton, was installed as Chapter Advisor and Dad David Stern, a Past Master of Cosmopolitan Lodge #125 in New Haven, was installed as Chairman of the Advisory Council, there are 11 other advisors volunteering their time to assist this Chapter, any way they can.
This was a truely remarkable day, the crowd was wonderful.  A big hit of the day was the new candles, crafted by Dad Adam O'Day, the electric lights can be turned on or off by tapping the top or even blowing on them.  New Britain Assembly #6 of the Rainbow Girls presented the flag and Unity Lodge #148 had a good showing of support with several lodge members in attendance, including both the newly installed Worshipful Master, Mark Parsiliti and immediate Past Master, Keath Romano.
The Chapter has been working hard at growth over the last few years and is now starting to make strides in their membership efforts as they expect to become a chartered Chapter by Connecticut DeMolay's Conclave, in July - this will be the first new, or reinstated, charter issued in Connecticut since 1990.
